One UI 9 update: which Galaxy phones have it and what's new
Samsung's One UI 9, based on Android 17, is rolling out in stages. Samsung started the stable update on 16 September 2026 with the Galaxy S26, S26+ and S26 Ultra. It had already shipped on the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Fold8 and Flip8, which launched with it. Samsung says other Galaxy devices will follow gradually (Samsung Newsroom).
The update does not reach every phone on the same day. The timing depends on your country, your carrier and your model.

Which other phones are next
SamMobile lists these models, which took part in the One UI 9 beta, as expected to get the stable update in the coming weeks: Galaxy A25, A35, A36, A37, A55, A56, A57, S23, S24, S25, Z Flip6, Z Flip7, Z Fold6 and Z Fold7 (SamMobile). We could not find a full list of dates from Samsung.
How to check for the update
- Open Settings and scroll down to Software update.
- Tap Download and install (on some versions the button reads Check for updates). The phone will say if nothing is available yet.
- Before you install, charge to at least 30% and back up your photos and files.
Samsung rolls updates out in waves, so a friend with the same phone may get it days before you.
What's new in One UI 9
Samsung highlights these changes in its announcement:
- My FanCam: the camera follows a person you pick in a video and keeps them centred as the scene moves.
- Now Brief cards: you can create your own daily summary cards for health, weather and video.
- Warranty and Care in Settings: check warranty cover for your connected devices, run self-diagnostics, see repair estimates and book a service appointment.
- Now Nudge: suggestions as you go, such as pulling up booking details or saving a shared location while you text.
- Creative Studio: suggests image ideas for upcoming events, such as a friend's birthday.
- Interpreter Thread View: follow a translated conversation by scrolling back through earlier exchanges.
- Document Scan: handles curved book pages and folded corners with less manual adjustment.
- Voice Recorder: summaries with headings and tables.
- Security: Security Brief and Privacy Alerts in Now Brief, and Scam Detection in more countries and languages.
Some features need a Samsung Account, and what you get depends on your country, language and model. SamMobile also lists more Quick Panel options, better DeX windowing and a Notes Tape feature.
