SpikeToday has no accounts, comments or newsletters, so we never ask you for personal details. This page explains what is collected automatically when you visit.

Content delivery

SpikeToday is delivered through Cloudflare, which processes technical data such as your IP address to deliver pages quickly and protect the site against attacks. Our own web server keeps standard access logs (IP address, requested address, browser type and time) for security and troubleshooting. These logs are deleted after 14 days.

Our own page view counter

We count page views with our own counter, which uses no cookies. When a page loads, your browser tells our server which page you viewed and which website sent you, if any. To filter out automated traffic and repeated counts, the server briefly keeps the IP address and browser type with that record. These raw records are deleted after 3 days; after that we keep only totals, such as the number of views per page and per referring website.

Google Analytics

We also use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used. Google Analytics sets cookies and collects information such as the pages you visit, your device and your approximate location. See how Google uses information from sites that use its services. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Advertising

SpikeToday may show advertising. Before it does, this page will be updated to name the advertising providers and explain how they use data and how you can control it.

Sharing

The share links on our pages are plain links. They load nothing from social networks until you click one.
