Pokémon GO Fall Marathon: Bramblin debut, dates and bonuses
Pokémon GO's Fall Marathon: Buddy Trek runs from Tuesday 13 October at 10:00 a.m. to Monday 19 October at 8:00 p.m. local time. It brings Bramblin to the game for the first time, and Mega Manectric becomes the first Pokémon that can reach the new Super Max Mega Level (official announcement).
How to find Bramblin
Bramblin is not on the list of wild spawns. The official post gives three ways to meet it:
- using Incense (not the free Daily Adventure Incense),
- completing Field Research tasks from PokéStops, or
- finishing tasks on the event's GO Pass.
The official post does not mention a Shiny Bramblin, so don't expect one this week.
Incense Pokémon, in two halves
| When | Incense can attract |
|---|---|
| 13 Oct, 10 a.m. to 16 Oct, 10 a.m. | Galarian Ponyta, Hoppip, Electrike, Dwebble, Bramblin |
| 16 Oct, 10 a.m. to 19 Oct, 8 p.m. | Hisuian Growlithe, Nincada, Electrike, Helioptile, Bramblin |
Shiny Electrike is boosted all week, and Shiny Hisuian Growlithe from Incense in the second half. Wild spawns include Ponyta, Doduo, Electrike and Blitzle, with Skarmory as a rarer find.
Mega Manectric and Super Max
Super Max is a new level above Max. To reach it, a Pokémon must first be at Max Mega Level, and then you power it up with its own Mega Energy; Mega Evolving alone is not enough. At Super Max, Mega Manectric can use an extra Charged Attack, Discharge+ (50 power in Trainer Battles, 150 in raids, rising with Mega Level).
Two ways to collect Manectric Mega Energy this week: event Field Research, and the GO Pass bonus at Rank 20, which gives 5× Mega Energy for exploring with Electrike or Manectric as your buddy once you have Mega Evolved Manectric at least once.
GO Pass: Fall Marathon
- Free track: event encounters, Incense, Rare Candy and Ultra Balls. At Rank 10, Incense lasts two hours.
- GO Pass Deluxe, US$4.99: more encounters, Manectric Mega Energy and Rare Candy XL. US$6.99 adds six ranks straight away.
- Claim your rewards by Wednesday 21 October, 8:00 p.m. local time.
A free Timed Research gives 16,800 XP and a Pikachu wearing a marathon visor. Finish it by 19 October at 8:00 p.m.
Also that week
- Thursday 15 October: Stufful Spotlight Hour, 6 to 7 p.m., 2× Transfer Candy.
- Saturday 17 October: Sandile Hatch Day, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sandile hatches far more often from 2 km Eggs, with half hatch distance and 2× hatch Candy (official post). Its hatch bonuses don't stack with similar bonuses from other events or GO Passes.
