Instagram Plus costs $3.99 a month in the US, and it does not show who rewatched your Story. Meta says the paid tier shows only how many times a Story was replayed in total, not who replayed it, Fox Business reported. What it does add is a way to peek at someone's Story without appearing in their viewer list.

Instagram Plus began rolling out worldwide on June 4, 2026, per Engadget. It is now one of three single-app plans in Meta One, the subscription service Meta launched on September 15, Meta says.

What Instagram Plus adds

Instagram says the features you get can vary and are shown on the sign-up screen before you pay.

Can it show who rewatched your Story?

No. Instagram describes the Rewatch Count as "how many times your story was replayed", and a Meta representative said Instagram Plus "does not give subscribers more information about other people's viewing habits", as Fox Business reported. A fact-check by Fact Crescendo in July found the viral claim that Plus reveals who rewatched a Story misleading.

Critics worry that the new features could push people to obsess over who is watching their Stories, Fox Business reported. The viewer list already names who saw a Story, so a replay total can invite guesses about who came back. One TikTok user said names jumped back to the top of her viewer list with updated times, and Reddit users made similar claims. Fox Business noted that those accounts have not been independently verified, and Meta did not directly address the timestamp claims.

Story Preview is the other sore point. Meta confirmed that a subscriber can take a mini preview without appearing on the viewer list, and said people who post Stories see a notice that previews may not show up there. None of the sources checked for this page mention a setting to switch previews off.

Meta says plans, benefits and prices vary by region, app and account, so the sign-up screen shows your price. The Core plan ($7.99 in the US) bundles the Instagram Plus, Facebook Plus and WhatsApp Plus features with more AI use, and Premium costs $19.99, per Meta.

How to subscribe and cancel

Meta also sells WhatsApp Plus, its cheapest single-app plan at $2.99 a month in the US.
