Three ways to make a prompt your own
- Go literal, then sideways. Draw the obvious idea in your head first, then ask what is next to it. "Ram" can be a sheep or a memory chip.
- Keep a character. Put the same character into all 31 prompts, and by October 31 you have a small story.
- Set a timer. Fifteen minutes is enough for a small drawing, and it stops one hard prompt from ending your streak.
The prompts come from the official Inktober 2026 list. Using them is optional, and the official FAQ says you can take them in any order.
