The Grand Prix of Australia, round 18 of 22 in the MotoGP world championship, runs from Friday, Oct. 23 to Sunday, Oct. 25 at Phillip Island in Victoria. The 27-lap Grand Prix starts at 2 pm local time on Sunday (03:00 UTC), which is 11 am in Kuala Lumpur and Singapore. Saturday's 13-lap Sprint starts at 3 pm (04:00 UTC), according to MotoGP's official schedule feed.

It is the last MotoGP race at Phillip Island. From 2027 the Australian Grand Prix moves to a new street circuit in the centre of Adelaide, MotoGP.com announced in February. Five rounds remain once the Indonesian GP (Oct. 9-11) is done: Australia, Malaysia (Oct. 30-Nov. 1), Qatar (Nov. 6-8), Portugal (Nov. 20-22) and Valencia (Nov. 27-29), MotoGP's calendar shows.

Phillip Island is on Australian Eastern summer time (AEDT, UTC+11), which began on Oct. 4. UK and European clocks go back in the early hours of Sunday, Oct. 25, so the Sunday race is on winter time there but the Saturday sessions are not. US clocks change on Nov. 1. A day name after a time means it falls on a different day where you are. Q2 is the second qualifying session, which decides the front of the grid.

Phillip Island: the circuit and last year's race

The Phillip Island lap is 4.448 km (2.76 miles) with seven left and five right corners, and its longest straight is 900 metres, according to MotoGP's circuit data in the schedule feed. The first MotoGP race there after the pandemic breaks was in 2022. The winners of the Australian GP since then are Alex Rins (2022, Suzuki), Johann Zarco (2023, Ducati), Marc Márquez (2024, Ducati) and Raul Fernández (2025, Aprilia), Wikipedia's list shows. Last year Fabio Quartararo took pole, ending Ducati's streak of 98 front-row starts, and Marco Bezzecchi won the Sprint (Wikipedia).

The move to Adelaide is a six-year deal running to 2032. The street circuit will be about 4.195 km long with 18 corners, following the blueprint of the old Adelaide Street Circuit that once hosted Formula One. The first race there is set for three days in November 2027 (MotoGP.com).
