How to watch
- Eurovision Sport: live and free, with replays, subject to broadcast restrictions, so it may not be available in every country. It also has apps for Apple TV and Android TV. Its event page lists the same session times as the organisers.
- TV channels: neither the organisers' site nor USA Gymnastics' event page named a national TV broadcaster when checked on Oct. 8, so check your local listings.
- In the arena: tickets are sold through the organisers' site: session tickets for qualification and for the finals, passes for all sessions or all finals, and kids and wheelchair tickets, its FAQ lists. Zuidplein metro and bus station is a five-minute walk from Ahoy, and the organisers advise public transport because parking is limited.
Why this edition matters
- Olympic places are on the line. It is the first Olympic qualifier for Los Angeles 2028: the men's and women's teams that finish on the podium in Rotterdam qualify directly for the team event in LA, and the other team places are decided at the 2027 championships in China, World Gymnastics says.
- Team finals are back. The 2025 championships in Jakarta had no team event, Eurovision Sport notes, so the last team finals were in 2023.
- Two teams come in as champions. The U.S. women have won every world team title since they finished second to Russia in 2010, the last time Rotterdam hosted, and Japan's men are the reigning world and Olympic team champions, according to World Gymnastics.
Who competes when in qualification
The draw was held in Lausanne on Sept. 4. There are 24 teams in each competition, plus individual all-around gymnasts and apparatus specialists. Each session is split into subdivisions (Sub.). The best eight teams, 24 all-arounders and eight gymnasts on each apparatus, with two per country at most, reach the finals, World Gymnastics says. Times are Rotterdam time on the day shown (UTC+2: subtract two hours for UTC). Source: the official draw for men and women.

A number in brackets is the count of gymnasts when a country has two in a group. WG 1 and WG 2 are the labels the draw uses for two groups entered through World Gymnastics itself; Wikipedia's list of qualifiers matches WG 1 to Belarus and WG 2 to Russia. Apparatus specialists compete only on their own apparatus.
Where the favourites start, from the same World Gymnastics report: the U.S. women open on floor exercise in women's subdivision 1, Italy's women on uneven bars in subdivision 3, Brazil's women on uneven bars in subdivision 9 and China's women on vault in subdivision 10. In the men's draw, Japan opens on pommel horse and the United States on vault in subdivision 4, and China on still rings in subdivision 5.
When your country competes

How the competition works
- Qualification: every gymnast competes. A team can field four gymnasts on each apparatus, and the three highest scores count.
- Team final: the best eight teams. A team has up to five gymnasts, three compete on each apparatus and all three scores count.
- All-around final: 24 gymnasts, two per country at most. The highest total across all apparatus wins.
- Apparatus finals: eight gymnasts on each apparatus, two per country at most, one routine each. Men: floor, pommel horse, rings, vault, parallel bars, horizontal bar. Women: vault, uneven bars, balance beam, floor.
These rules are from the organisers' format page and World Gymnastics.
Who to watch
- Japan's men: Daiki Hashimoto, the reigning all-around champion with three straight world titles (2022, 2023 and 2025), and Paris Olympic all-around champion Shinnosuke Oka, World Gymnastics reports. Eurovision Sport has the 2025 results.
- Brazil's and Algeria's women: Rebeca Andrade was on the early registration list, with Flávia Saraiva and Lorrane Oliveira, as Brazil try to win back a podium place (the list was preliminary and teams could change until Oct. 5). Algeria are first-time team qualifiers, and Kaylia Nemour, the 2025 uneven bars champion, could challenge Angelina Melnikova, the reigning women's all-around champion, World Gymnastics says.
- Reigning apparatus champions on the registration list: Jake Jarman (Great Britain, men's floor), Hong Yanming (China, pommel horse), Carlos Yulo (Philippines, vault), Zou Jingyuan (China, parallel bars), Zhang Qingying (China, balance beam) and Aiko Sugihara (Japan, women's floor). Rings and horizontal bar will have new champions, because 2025 winners Donnell Whittenburg and Brody Malone are not competing.
- Team USA: men Patrick Hoopes, Danila Leykin, Kameron Nelson, Frederick Richard and Shane Wiskus; women Skye Blakely, Charleigh Bullock, Reese Esponda, Claire Pease and Hezly Rivera, USA Gymnastics lists.
Schedule, draw and team details are as published by the organisers, World Gymnastics, USA Gymnastics and Eurovision Sport and checked on Oct. 8, 2026. Rosters can change before the first session. This page will be updated with results.
