Singapore households with a gross monthly income of S$1,800 or less per person can still apply for a S$60 Public Transport Voucher (PTV) until Saturday, Oct. 31, 2026, online at go.gov.sg/ptv or in person at a community club, the Ministry of Transport (MOT) says. A bigger round follows the fare rise on Saturday, Dec. 26: S$80 per household, for households with S$2,100 or less per person (MOT, MOT release of Jan. 19).

Households that already got a voucher in the 2025 round and still qualify do not have to apply again for the S$80 voucher. MOT says they will get it automatically.

Applications for the S$60 round close on Oct. 31. The S$80 round goes with the fare adjustment from Dec. 26, which the Public Transport Council (PTC) announced on Sept. 29 (PTC).

How to apply before Oct. 31

  1. Work out your income per person. Add up everyone's gross monthly income and divide by the number of family members living together. MOT counts basic employment income, trade or self-employed income, overtime pay, allowances, cash awards, commissions and bonuses.
  2. Apply once for the whole household, online at go.gov.sg/ptv or in person at your local community club. Each eligible household gets one voucher, and at least one member must be a Singapore citizen or permanent resident.
  3. Ask for help if you are just over the limit. MOT says households that need extra help, including those that did not meet the income limit, can also submit an application the same way (MOT, Jan. 19).
  4. Wait for the letter. The notification letter, which is the voucher, is sent by post or digitally within four to six weeks of your application.

Does your household qualify? Income limit by household size

The limit is per person, so the household total can be higher for bigger households. The totals below are our own arithmetic from MOT's per-person limits, which say “not more than”.

Beware of scams

MOT warns of fraudulent posts and messages making false claims about Public Transport Vouchers. Government officials will never ask you to transfer money or give bank log-in details over the phone, it says, and you can call the 24-hour ScamShield helpline on 1799 if you are unsure.

Why the voucher is going up

Fares rise from Dec. 26, with adult card fares up 12 to 13 cents a ride, and PTC said the Public Transport Voucher goes up from S$60 to S$80 per eligible household (PTC). See our full table of new bus and MRT fares by distance.

Details are from MOT's Public Transport Vouchers page (last updated Sept. 30, 2026) and its Jan. 19, 2026 press release, both read on Oct. 20, 2026, and PTC's Sept. 29 release. The household-size totals are calculated. Check MOT or go.gov.sg/ptv for any change.
