Cricket World Cup 2027 Tickets: How to Enter the Ballot
The ICC's free ticket ballot for the 2027 Men's Cricket World Cup is open until 23:59 South Africa time on Saturday, November 21, 2026. You enter at tickets.cricketworldcup.com with an ICC account, choose your matches and ask for up to four tickets per match. Entering early does not help, and entering does not guarantee tickets: where a match has more entries than seats, a random draw decides who gets the chance to buy, the ICC says.
The ballot at a glance
- Opens and closes: October 1, 2026 to 23:59 SAST (21:59 UTC) on November 21, 2026.
- Cost to enter: nothing. No payment or bank details are taken at entry. You pay only if you are later offered tickets and choose to buy them.
- Who can enter: anyone in the world aged 18 or over, with an ICC account. One entry per person per match, and nobody can enter on your behalf.
- How many tickets: up to four per match, for as many matches as you like. Each match is a separate entry. You may be offered fewer than you ask for.
- Results: by email, within two weeks of the ballot closing (by about December 5).
- Prices: from R158 to R514 a ticket, which the ICC puts at about US$9.50 to $30.
- The tournament: 14 teams, 57 matches and 12 venues in South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia, from October 2 to November 21, 2027.
How to enter, step by step
- Go to tickets.cricketworldcup.com. The ICC says fans should use only this official ticketing channel.
- Log in to your ICC account. If you do not have one, you will be prompted to create and verify one.
- Pick your matches. For each one, choose the ticket category you prefer and how many tickets you want, from one to four.
- If you need an accessible seat, say so at checkout. The organisers will contact you before sales open to collect the details.
- Submit. A confirmation email goes to the address on your ICC account. If it does not arrive, check your spam folder first.
You cannot edit an entry once it is submitted. You can withdraw it, but only as a whole, not for one match at a time, according to the ICC ballot FAQ.
The deadline in your time zone
The ICC gives the deadline as 23:59 SAST, also written CAT. Both are UTC+2, so it is 21:59 UTC on Saturday, November 21.

|---|---|---|
| Johannesburg, Harare, Windhoek, Cairo | 11:59 pm | Sat, Nov 21 |

What happens after you enter
| When | What happens |
|---|---|
| Oct 1, 2026 | The ballot opens. |
| Nov 21, 2026, 23:59 SAST | The ballot closes. Every valid entry made before then counts equally. |
| Within two weeks of the close (by about Dec 5) | The ICC emails every applicant. Successful entrants get details of how and when to buy; the others are told they were unsuccessful. |
| After that | People offered tickets get a purchase window of a set length (not announced yet). Tickets not bought in time may go back on sale. |
| Later | Possible further sales phases for unsold tickets, announced by official email. |
| Oct 2 to Nov 21, 2027 | The tournament. |
Entering gives you a chance to buy, not a ticket and not a prize. The ICC says there are no free tickets, and the number you are offered may be lower than the number you asked for.
What the tickets cost
The ICC gives a range, not a price list: R158 for entry-level tickets up to R514 for the highest-tier matches. In US dollars, its media release says about $9.50 to $30 and its news story says $9.62 to $31.31, because exchange rates move. It also mentions family bundles, student and pensioner pricing, early-bird local allocations and community club and school group pricing.
In the documents checked for this page, the ICC did not say which matches fall in which price band, and it said payment methods will be announced before sales. Both local and global methods are planned.
How popular is it?
The ICC said ticket applications passed one million in less than three days after the ballot opened. As of October 6, more than 320,000 fans had registered and applications covered more than 1.1 million tickets. On that date these matches had the most ticket applications, per the ICC:
| Match | Date and city | Ticket applications on Oct 6 |
|---|---|---|
| India v Pakistan | Sun, Oct 10, Johannesburg | more than 110,000 |
| South Africa v India (Super 7) | Sun, Oct 31, Johannesburg | more than 92,000 |
| India v Australia | Thu, Oct 7, Cape Town | more than 86,000 |
| India (A1) v Pakistan (A3) (Super 7) | Sun, Nov 7, Cape Town | almost 78,000 |
| The final | Sun, Nov 21, Johannesburg | almost 69,000 |
The ICC named these matches without dates. The dates here are matched to its fixture list, and the only South Africa v India fixture in that list is the Super 7 match on October 31, which happens if both teams qualify as seeded. The ICC has not said how many seats each match has, so these numbers do not show anyone's odds. Each match is its own draw, and the ICC says you could be successful for more than one of the matches you enter.
Questions people ask
- Is it first come, first served? No. Entries made at any point before the deadline are treated equally.
- Can someone enter for me? No. Each entry belongs to the ICC account and the person entering. A parent or guardian can ask for tickets for a child as part of their own entry, within the four-ticket limit.
- Can under-18s enter? No. Only people aged 18 or over can enter.
- Is it the same ballot for all three countries? Yes. One ballot covers matches in South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia, and it is open to fans everywhere.
- What if my match is not oversubscribed? Registered fans get access to buy, and tickets left over may go on general sale. The ICC says it will announce closer to the match dates if more than four tickets per person become available.
- What if I am unsuccessful? That does not rule you out of later sales phases. The ICC says it will announce them by direct, official email.
- I did not get my confirmation email. Check spam, and check you are looking at the address used for your ICC account. The ICC's FAQ lists info@ticketpros.co.za as the official ticketing support address.
- Where are the full rules? The terms and conditions are on tickets.cricketworldcup.com.
Do not pay anyone to "enter" the ballot. The ICC says no payment or banking details are taken at entry, and that fans should buy only through its official channel.
The format in brief
- Super Series (3 matches, Windhoek): the three lowest-ranked qualifiers play each other once. The winner joins the group stage.
- Group stage (30 matches): 12 teams in two groups of six. Group A is India, Australia, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Zimbabwe and Qualifier A. Group B is New Zealand, South Africa, Sri Lanka, England, Bangladesh and Qualifier B.
- Super 7 (21 matches): the top three from each group and the better fourth-placed team play each other once, with no points carried over. Seven teams have fixed Super 7 slots in the schedule: A1 India, A2 Australia, A3 Pakistan, AB4 England, B1 New Zealand, B2 South Africa and B3 Sri Lanka. A team that qualifies above a seeded team takes that team's slot.
- Semi-finals and final: the top four from the Super 7 go through. Both semi-finals have a reserve day, and the final has a reserve day on November 22.
