Nigeria’s Special Passport Intervention Exercise in the UK runs until Friday, October 30, 2026, at centres in London, Manchester, Aberdeen and Cardiff. You must book an appointment first: there is no walk-in service, and cash is not accepted at the venues.

The dates, addresses and the list of what to bring below come from the Nigeria High Commission’s notice for “Phase 2 – October 2026”. When we opened the booking form linked from that notice on October 17, it said “This form is currently unavailable!” We do not know whether the slots are full or the form is paused, so check the High Commission’s page for the current link before you plan a trip.

The exercise has been extended twice. London and Manchester were first due to run from September 7 to 19 (Premium Times), then to October 3 (PRNigeria), and on September 25 the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) extended it to October 30 across four cities (Nairametrics, VON).

What it costs

ItemAmountWhere it comes from
Passport, 5-year booklet$162NIS statement of September 11 (PRNigeria)
Passport, 10-year booklet$242NIS statement of September 11 (PRNigeria)
Administrative charge£20, by postal order or e-paymentNigeria High Commission notice for Phase 2
Lost, misplaced or damaged passport£150, by postal order or e-paymentNigeria High Commission notice for Phase 2

The two sources do not fully agree. NIS said in September that applicants do not need to pay any additional fee to take part (PRNigeria), while the High Commission’s notice lists the £20 charge and says it is the “approved standard administrative charge”. On September 11 the High Commission said a claim that a £70 fee had been approved was incorrect; a separate, undated notice says applicants who paid £70 will get £50 back. The notices list no fee for an appointment slot, so do not pay anyone for one.

How to book

  1. Apply and pay for the passport on NIS’s online portal first, and keep the payment receipt (Premium Times; start from the NIS passports page).
  2. Book an appointment through the form on the Nigeria High Commission’s website, and print the slip. Come at your scheduled date and time (Nairametrics).
  3. Prepare the postal order or e-payment and the return envelope listed above.
  4. Go to the centre you booked. NIS says only applicants with booked appointments are attended to (TVC News).

If you cannot get a slot

On September 21 NIS said applicants who could not get an appointment, or who prefer not to visit a centre, should use its Contactless Passport Application System, which lets eligible Nigerians renew without visiting a High Commission (VON, VON). For questions, NIS gave a WhatsApp number, +234 916 087 8000, for messages only (Independent). The High Commission lists the phone number 020 7839 1244 and the email hc@nigeriahc.org.uk.

How many people have used it

By September 30, the 21st day of the exercise, 8,956 applicants had been enrolled in the UK (TVC News). On the first four days 1,477 were enrolled, and NIS said more than half of them already had their passports produced and dispatched (PRNigeria).

What is not clear yet

This page is not an official notice. Use the links on the High Commission’s own website, and check the amounts there before you pay.
